Goal-setting Blueprints For Entrepreneurs

My experience in football competition shows that scoring goal is one of the most exciting moments. It boosts the energy of the scoring team. In business the experience is the same. When you win in business you become excited and want to succeed more.  However, I'm not talking about sports, I'm referring to achieving your life goal. What are your goals? How do you intend to actualize them for maximum result? This guide will help you discover the goal-setting blue prints for your life.

Do you constantly set goals but hardly ever meet them? When you first attempt to make more money, for instance, do you really begin with determination only to lose momentum because you lack the self-discipline to continue? There are no qualms; it's just normal. Most resolutions end in total failure!

Every New Year's day people make all manner of resolutions - relationships, business, health, money, etc. They wish they had all that life provides. They fail to consider the price they should pay to make their resolutions a reality. And soon they're on the ground. Do you tend to follow the same pattern that results in failed resolutions year after year?

Why You Fail to Meet Your Goal

Most times you can't remember ever achieving any goal you set out to achieve at the start of the year. What's responsible for this? What's the stumbling block to your success? To my mind, it's not about the goals or resolutions you set per se. It's about YOU. Yes, you can be the greatest obstacle to realizing your goal! It's about whether or not you can change yourself.

Long ago, Mr. Joe, a good friend of mine, complained to me about the marital crises he had with his wife. It almost dissolved the marriage relationship. In my effort to reconcile them, I discovered that my friend's attitude towards Danni was far below expectation and that, in fact, was the reason for the crises. Joe is stubborn, drinks and smokes marijuana to abnormality and, therefore, deviates from his right frame of mind! Bottom line - he fails to remove the speck in his own eyes before removing that in the eyes of his innocent wife, Danni.

If you want to make money, what habits do you need to change to realize your goal of making money? Or what can you do to attract the money you're looking for? Perhaps, you may decide to get stuck with old ideas that don't work out.
If you want to attract money, how can you improve yourself so others are attracted to you? What could possibly be your mindset shifts in other to rise to that higher rung of wealth you so desire?

Is It Difficult To Make a Change?

Have you ever bumped into someone who you haven't met for years? What impression did you have about them? Possibly, you noticed they haven't changed at all in their habits, attitude and general outlook on life when compared to the last time you saw them. On the other hand, what will be your reaction if  you come across someone who has dramatically changed for the better?  A little surprised?

Many reasons abound as to why people don't change - fear of the unknown, procrastination, comfort zone, lack of courage, to mention a few. The major part is they don't know how to start. Their sense of reasoning is beclouded! My experience with helping people set goals that work in their life, reveals that the bigger the goal they set, the more difficult it is for them to achieve it. You can set goals that stretch you. That's OK.

If you're serious about making a change; if you're ready to work on yourself, then read this report to the end, so you can make better goal-setting decisions that can transform your entire life. Change isn't automatic; you don't need quantum leap. All you need is a step-by-step or a small change everyday. More so, as you introduce one small change each day in setting your goal, you'll eventually be surprised at how you've made a major decision of your life. Remember, once a change is made, then the barriers fade away gradually. From this one SMALL CHANGE, you could make a BIG CHANGE that can transform your life positively.

You Are The Architect Of Your Own Future

It's a fantastic skill to learn how to design your future. Many people walk through the day and sometimes even their lifetime without a goal. This is dangerous to life! "But if you can start giving your life dimensions and design and color and objectives and purpose, the results can be absolutely staggering" -- Jim Rohn

Setting goal affords you the ability to imagine what the future holds for you. There is power in your imagination. What you imagine - negative or positive is what you eventually become. It determines your future. Did you know positive imagination can create wealth and lead you to success? The application of your imaginative power to goal setting helps you create the future you so desire and live the life you possibly wish to live.

Learning to set goals is no rocket science. It's possible and achievable be it long-term, medium-term or short-term goals. You can make changes where necessary to suit your expectations. The best part is everyone can do it. It's neither a gift nor an inherent quality; it can be learned. You're the architect of your own future. No one will design your life for you, or you'll live the rest days of your life in regrets! A goal not accomplished is a goal so wasted. As you reach your goal, you'll discover you've changed and grown.

                                                                SMART Goals

Let me walk you through the goal acronym called SMART. SMART refers to Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Time-sensitive.
Specific : Be clear about what you want. What exactly do you really want out of life?

Measurable : One thing is to set a goal and another thing is to accomplish it. So how would you know if your goal is achieved at the end of the day? Your goal should be quantified.

Attainable : What can you reasonably accomplish as you set your goal? You must be honest with yourself about what it is you want from life.

Realistic : Is your goal practical, real or doable?

Time-Sensitive : Determine when exactly you intend to accomplish your goal. Is it one year, two years, three years or more? Be clear about when to complete your goal.

6 Steps For Achieving Any Goal

Once you've made a list of goals you want to achieve, first is identify the people, groups, organizations or resources that will help you achieve them. Second is begin to make a list of the steps to take in order to achieve your goals -- Brian Tracy

The under-listed steps may help you actualize your goals. Here they are:

1. Write down your goals -- There is power in what you see. Make that list your partner until you achieve your goals.

2. Set  a date within which to accomplish your goals
3. Decide the obstacles to reaching your goals and a means of clearing them from your path

4. Select the people you need to work with. They should be people you trust and share the same vision. They may be people who are ahead of you in your chosen career or business. They may be your mentors. You could form a mastermind alliance with such experienced people.

5. List the benefits for setting your goals

6. Put down a plan of action to follow and get busy with it everyday. Take one step everyday, no matter how small until you reach your goal.

To your success!
